The Lion is Loose

"Have you heard? Have you heard? The l-l-li-lion is loose!" Mrs Haveyouheard announces in excitement. In spite of this, Pips sets off for a walk – and falls into a pit trap. But down in the hole is exactly where the lion is sitting! Pips fears the worst, but the lion does not eat her but instead asks her to help him out. Luckily it is not long before they are found and rescued. No sooner is the lion on his way back to the zoo than he unexpectedly finds himself on a boat drifting unstoppably out to sea towards Africa. There are more adventures waiting for him there, in the stories "Cockatoo in Distress" and "Sultan in the Pit" and with Kim and Pips.
